A Day in the Life
of a Young Jesuit

The first order of business for the new arrivals is moving in and getting settled into their rooms and into their new surroundings.

For approximately two weeks, the new first yearlings are known as "postulants" since they are seeking admission into the Jesuit Novitiate and are considered guests of the house. During this time they get to know one another, the second-year men, the Novitiate staff, and what life in the Novitiate is like. At the end of this postulancy period, the men move into their regular rooms in the Novitiate wing.
