Having completed their two years of novitiate preparation, Jesuit novices James Page, Alex Placke, and John-Paul Witt pronounced their vows on August 11, 2012, making them official members of the Society of Jesus. The vow ceremony takes place within the context of Mass which this year was held at Saint Charles Borromeo Church in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.

John-Paul Witt, Alex Placke, and James Page pronounce their vows
as they promise to live as Jesuits in poverty, chastity, and obedience.

These men will now begin a period called "First Studies" where they will concentrate on philosophy and other courses preparing them for ministry and further studies toward ordination to the priesthood. Alex Placke will study at Fordham University, John-Paul will study at St. Louis University, and James will study at Regis College in Toronto.
