Let us pray...
For the continued healing of the survivors of Hurricane Katrina
during this time of remembrance and vigil.
May God grant them consolation through friendship,
courage through commitment,
and strength through perseverance.

For the rescue and relief workers who toil for others.
May God grant them wisdom through experience,
compassion through empathy,
and conviction through vision.

For our nation.
May God grant us the audacity
to respond hopefully and without hesitation
as we consider the needs of our sisters and brothers
who live without families, without homes,
without schools, without healthcare systems.
